I’m Mayor Joy Petro, and it is my honor and privilege to welcome you to our great city of Layton, Utah. Bordered by the magnificent Wasatch Mountains and Great Salt Lake, Layton sits in the heart of Davis County with immediate access to Utah’s great outdoor lifestyle. Home to about 84,500, our citizens enjoy a thriving economy with consistent growth in business and career opportunities. Access to good education is abundant, from an advanced grade school focused on STEM, to a well-respected technical college and university in and around Layton. Strategically positioned along the Wasatch Front, Layton is 25 minutes from the Salt Lake International Airport, 20 minutes from Salt Lake City, and has great access to transportation options, boasting convenient access to two interstate freeways, Union Pacific Rail, UTA FrontRunner commuter rail station, and UTA public bus system.
