Weber State University and Hill Air Force Base Agreement

Hill Air Force Base and Weber State University have announced a new agreement aimed at increasing the educational opportunities for base personnel.  The agreement, signed this week, allows WSU to offer certificate and associate-degree programs on the base. Initial offerings include several computer science courses to be taught by WSU faculty. Representatives for Hill AFB and WSU said they hope to build on the partnership and expand the number of programs offered.

Utah Department of Workforce Services

More than 2,200 Workforce Services employees assist individuals in preparing for and finding jobs and helping Utah businesses meet workforce needs. Through a collaborative approach, the department has served millions of Utahns and has become a leader on several statewide employment initiatives. Workforce Development Specialists help employers with one-on-one support to meet workforce needs.

Weber State University

Weber State offers more than 225 certificate and degree programs and 16 graduate degrees. At Weber, 79% of students have jobs, 59% attend part-time. Multiple locations and online, evening and distance learning courses help students balance their commitments.

University of Utah

The University of Utah is a public research university in Salt Lake City, Utah. As the state’s flagship university, it offers more than 100 undergraduate majors and more than 92 graduate degree programs.

The Employer Engagement Team supports employer hiring needs by facilitating on-campus events so businesses can engage directly with students. Their platform Handshake allows organizations to post job openings exclusively at the U. The Career and Professional Development Center is committed to supporting employers who have the opportunity to reach out to an Employer Engagement Specialist that aligns with each specific industry.

Employer assistance includes career fairs, events, and job/internship postings. There are also various ways employers can engage with students on campus. Employers may contact the University of Utah’s Employer Engagement Team for information regarding event dates, times, and costs and registration.

Lassonde for Life Program

All University of Utah alumni interested in entrepreneurship are welcome to participate in the Lassonde for Life program. It offers alumni with lifelong support for their entrepreneurial pursuits and dreams by providing resources and support from the top-10 ranked Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute, an interdisciplinary division of the David Eccles School of Business. Alumni can participate free of charge and from anywhere on the globe to explore entrepreneurship, get help starting a company, grow a company, attend events, make connections, find mentors, and more. The program is provided in partnership between the Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute, PIVOT Center, and the university’s Office of Alumni Relations.

Davis Technical College

Davis Technical College is a public technical college in Kaysville, Utah. It provides competency-based education in an open-entry, open-exit environment which prepares over 6,000 high school and adult students with career and technical skills.

Davis Technical College provides placement services for program completers and other students, as resources allow. These services are intended to help students and graduates find employment that aligns with the needs of employers that the school serves.

Davis Tech invites employer to participate in its annual Career Fair in October. This is an excellent opportunity for organizations to get in front of Davis Tech students, and local job seekers. Davis Tech typically sees over 1,400 attendees at this event.

Utah State University

Utah State University is a public university in Logan, Utah. With nearly 20,000 students living on or near campus, USU is Utah’s largest public residential campus.

USU features a boutique career center that understands the specific hiring needs of a wide variety of employers and the talents and career goals of their students. Employers may select from several best practices to customize their campus recruiting visit.

Employers can reach a wide variety of students/alumni for internship, entry-level, and experienced positions through posting internships and career positions on the Aggie Handshake job site; scheduling a recruiting visit to interview candidates; building campus visibility via information sessions, tabling, and classroom visits; attending career fairs to network with hundreds of enthusiastic and experienced students and more.

Brigham Young University

Brigham Young University (BYU) is a private research university located in Provo, Utah and owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). The school currently has the largest undergraduate enrollment of any private university in the U.S. with over 33,000 total daytime students.

BYU is No. 3 in the country for the most graduates with foreign language degrees; ranked No. 1 in Best Trained Business Graduates (Bloomberg Businessweek), has the No. 2 Undergraduate Accounting Program (US News & World Report), No. 3 Master of Accounting Program (Public Accounting Report), and No. 4 Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Program (Entrepreneur/Princeton Review).

BYU offers on-campus recruiting for employers with booths, information sessions, on-campus interviews, etc. The school gives businesses the chance to bring bright new minds into their organization with fairs and other recruiting opportunities. Finding perspective employees is not easy. Sometimes, a good way to meet and recruit BYU students is by reaching out through the school’s various clubs. BYU also provides employers resources to tap into recruiting via clubs on campus.

Utah Valley University

Utah Valley University (UVU) is a public university in Orem, Utah. UVU offers masters, bachelors, and associate degrees. The school is the largest public university in the state of Utah, and one of a few in the nation offering a dual-mission model that combines the rigor and richness of a first-rate teaching university with the openness and vocational programs of a community college.

UVU appreciates employer interest in recruiting students, soon-to-be graduates, and alumni. Businesses are encouraged to contact a member of the Career Development Center Employer Relations staff for information regarding on-campus recruiting.

The school offers career and internship fairs, reserved exclusively for employers recruiting for professional career positions and/or degree-related internships. These positions must require a university degree and/or must be directly related to one of more majors or programs offered at UVU. Utah Valley also has program-specific fairs for students in specific degree or certificate programs; student job fairs for students looking for part-time or flexible jobs they can work while attending school.
