Small Business Capital and Cash Flow is Focus of Upcoming Seminar

Layton City’s Community and Economic Development is pleased to announce its next Small Business Seminar: “Capital and Cash Flow for Small Businesses.” Set for November 21, 2022 from noon to 1:00 pm, the class will help train local business owners and leaders on how to effectively manage cash flow and prepare for dry months.

Studies show that one of the top reasons most small businesses fail is because they do not have enough cash on hand. The class will include a discussion on how to effectively manage money coming into and leaving a business.

The event will feature an interactive dialogue format with business financing professionals from First Community Bank including: Jacob Terry, VP, Commercial Loan Officer, Kent Vance, VP, Commercial Loan Officer, Jaden Long, AVP, Bryan Jack, EVP, Chief Financial Officer, and Brady Stratton, SVP, Marketing and Sales Officer. Morgan Cloward, with Layton City’s Economic Development department, will help coordinate questions from attendees for the panel.

The popular and educational small business seminars were started by Layton City in early 2016 and offer the opportunity for local executives coveted networking opportunities with others in the community.  The City’s upcoming event will be held in the Training Room (bottom floor) at Layton’s City Center Building, 437 North Wasatch Drive.

Layton City’s Abbington Senior Living will be sponsoring this event and providing a free lunch for all who attend. Past classes have provided effective training on a wide array of business-related topics by local business owners and experts. Topics have included: business networking, marketing, finance, employee recruitment and retention, and customer service.

If you would like to request a future training topic for consideration, sponsor a lunch that includes a five-minute pitch about your business, or for more information about Layton City’s Small Business Seminars contact Morgan Cloward at 801-336-3770, mcloward@laytoncity.org.
