Utah Designated Best of the World by National Geographic

National Geographic recently named Utah to its 2023 “Best of the World” list. The celebrated publication rewarded the state this designation thanks to several of its adrenaline rush opportunities in the popular adventure state.

National Geographic designated Utah as one of the 25 most inspiring travel destinations on Earth. The Beehive State is featured in the Adventure category as the only United States destination in the group. In fact, Utah is one of only five U.S. locations selected on the entire list.

Nine years ago Utah launched “The Mighty Five” campaign – intended to inspire people to have a bucket list life experience by visiting one of the state’s five national parks. Would-be visitors are still invited to experience world-famous red rock landscapes, white water rapids, biking, hiking, and the solace of nature alone or with family.

Millions from across the nation and around the world explore Utah’s five national parks on an annual basis: Arches, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, and Zion. Also boasting 43 state parks, seven national monuments, two national recreation areas and The Greatest Snow on Earth®, Utah represents the best of both the Rocky Mountains and the Desert Southwest.

Visitors to Layton, Utah, can become even more familiar with their adventurous side where recreation opportunities abound. With direct access to the Wasatch National Forest along the Wasatch Front, over 24 miles of scenic trails within city limits and access to the Bonneville Shoreline Trail and Great Western Trail, Antelope Island State Park, Great Salt Lake Shorelands Preserve, and nearby Snowbasin ski resort, adrenaline rush possibilities here are also endless.
