Utah Schools Rank High: U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges

Layton City is virtually the center of education in Utah, with access to six major public and private universities and nineteen colleges and technical schools within a convenient one-hour radius, and home to Weber State University, Davis Campus. Two local universities received impressive rankings, including the University of Utah, just 30 minutes away from Layton, and Brigham Young University, located a little further South.

The U.S. News & World Report publication recently released its annual rankings of national colleges and universities is a coveted list based on 17 metrics of academic quality with the most weight placed on outcome measures, such as graduation and retention rates and average graduate indebtedness. Other factors that helped set the rankings include average class size, undergraduate academic reputation and how much colleges invest in instruction and student services.
