Utah’s Leading Industry Role Marked: 47G Aerospace/Defense Event

The 47G convention, officially called the Zero Gravity Summit, took place on Tuesday, November 4, and Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. This exciting two-day event, hosted by 47G (Utah Aerospace and Defense), was billed as one of the nation’s premier gatherings for national security, cybersecurity, defense innovation, energy resilience, and related technology.

The Zero Gravity Summit was significantly expanded this year, and attracted leaders from aerospace, defense, energy, intelligence, and investment sectors from 36 US states and eight countries.

Key Summit Highlights

The summit was structured around four critical tracks at the intersection of defense and commercial innovation, often referred to as dual-use technology. The Defense Tech track explored next-generation systems, autonomy, and command and control. During The Future of Flight segment, panelists focused on advanced air mobility, electric aircraft, and urban air systems.

The New Space Economy discussion focused on upstream/downstream space, launch, and satellite technology, while Energy Production and Grid Security Highlighted resilient power systems, microgrids, and critical infrastructure protection.

Featured Keynote Speakers

The Zero Gravity Summit lineup included prominent national figures and leaders including:

  • Jen Easterly: Former Director of CISA (Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency), who spoke on cybersecurity, AI, and safeguarding critical infrastructure.
  • Spencer Cox: Governor of Utah.
  • Dmytro Kushneruk: Consul General of Ukraine.
  • Nikki Haley: Former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. and Governor of South Carolina, who addressed America’s role in global security.
  • Peyton Manning: NFL Hall of Famer and entrepreneur, who spoke on building a championship organization.

Exhibits and Networking

The event featured over 150 exhibitors showcasing cutting-edge technologies and provided numerous opportunities for one-on-one matchmaking among executives, venture capitalists, and government leaders. Layton had good exposure at the summit by sharing a table with Kihomac to provide information about property available for related businesses and manufacturing. Kihomac just partnered with Deloitte Aerospace and Defense to manufacture drones in a new 60,000 sf expansion they broke ground on two weeks ago in Layton’s East Gate Business Park.

The summit aimed to solidify Utah’s role as a leading hub for the aerospace and defense industry, bringing together government, industry, and academia to accelerate innovation in technologies critical to national security.
