Volunteers Help Neighborhoods During myHometown Day of Service

On Saturday, May 16, 2026, approximately 125 local volunteers of all ages gathered in Layton’s Vae View and Camelot neighborhoods for the latest myHometown Day of Service. This multigenerational team tackled a massive neighborhood cleanup, identifying local needs and coordinating efforts to complete essential yard and property projects.

Volunteers rolled up their sleeves to mow lawns, pull weeds, trim branches, and remove debris, rocks, and garbage. Their hard work brought several park strips back into city code compliance by clearing away overgrown bushes and weeds.

The myHometown initiative aims to uplift Layton neighborhoods, transforming them into vibrant places where residents want to live and invest their time. Beyond the physical improvements, these events foster community camaraderie and build lasting friendships.

Layton City actively backs the initiative by providing limited funding, project grants, and in-kind services—including equipment, street cleaning, and garbage and tree removal.
