Ski Bus Resumes Service December 11 for 2021-2022 Season

The affordable and convenient Utah Transit Authority (UTA) Snowbasin Ski Bus Route will operate once again between Snowbasin Resort and the Layton City FrontRunner Station, beginning December 11, 2021 through the end of March. Five years ago, Layton, Davis County and the UTA unveiled the new bus route from Layton to Snowbasin. The successful partnership is continuing, and ski enthusiasts in Layton and Davis County can continue to enjoy a convenient, affordable bus ride to Snowbasin Resort.

Bus route 677 Layton/Snowbasin Ski Service starts its daily route at the Layton FrontRunner Station, and makes stops at popular locations in the Midtown area, including the Layton Hills Mall and two stops near hotels (located on Heritage and Woodland Park Drives). The route then continues on to Highway 89 South Weber, and up Weber Canyon to Snowbasin. This route helps reduce the number of vehicles on the road.

The Snowbasin Ski Bus is capable of carrying several skis and snowboards. The most attractive feature about the Ski Bus is its competitively low fare of only $5 each way ($2.50 for seniors). Bus times are conveniently coordinated with the FrontRunner commuter train schedule. Several local skiers and visitors can ride the bus twice a day on non-peak days and four times a day on peak days — weekends and holidays.

Snowbasin Resort, only 24 miles from Layton City, combines 3,000 acres of world-class skiing with luxurious lodges and amenities. The resort is one of the longest continuously operating ski areas in the US. Since 1940, skiers from around the globe have enjoy Utah’s exhilarating powder snow and majestic mountain scenery. Snowbasin was the proud host of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games’ Downhill, Combined and Super-G races.

The resort offers uncrowded slopes, promising adventure for skiers of all abilities. Wide open bowls filled with powder, steep chutes, evergreen-forested gullies and long-rolling groomed runs await at majestic Snowbasin. Layton City is proud to be considered its base for lodging, shopping and dining and welcomes thousands of visitors from around the world each winter.
